Arguably the hottest property on the jazz scene right now Ahmed release a new double album that offers a new take on Jazz Sahara, the late 50's cult album from Ahmed Abdul-Malik.  The band, including UK pianist Pat Thomas and US saxophonist Seymour Wright, bring their own unique take to the music delivering a record that is al lively as kittens in a sack.  Like all the great music in this genre there is no slack, no real place to rest, you are taken on a exhilerating ride from the opening notes and not let off till the final bell is struck.   If free jazz/improvisation is your thing then this is absolutely essential.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
